Eko:bode is a modern eight unit apartment building in the heart of Surfers Paradise, just 100 metres from the new Rapid Transit Line. The building is intended to supply short term affordable accommodation to those requiring temporary affordable housing, or moving to the Gold Coast to find work. The building provides shared communal amenities such as kitchens, laundries and lounges, and ample bicycle parking.

The property aims to be net-zero for both energy and water use. The building has a 7.5 star BERS rating and will include energy efficient lighting and a 6KW solar power system. Two 22,500 litre rainwater tanks will collect all water from the roof and this will be filtered for use as potable water in all basins and showers. Grey water will be collected from showers and laundries for reuse in toilets and for irrigation. The building also uses recycled and renewable materials throughout, and waste will be managed and minimised throughout construction.
