Shoreline is the first precinct to be delivered as part of the 15-20 year redevelopment of Cockburn Coast, transforming this former industrial area into a community of 12,000 people. Shoreline will ultimately deliver 2,500 dwellings with a diverse range of apartments, townhouses and maisonettes to accommodate around 5,000 people.
The developer ensures all future development meets sustainability standards including energy and water efficiency requirements as well as submetering infrastructure to enable residents and tenants to monitor and manage consumption, through mandated Sustainable Design Criteria.
There has been a strong design focus on community at Shoreline, both within the public realm and what is delivered through built form with a goal to create a connected, diverse and accessible community. This walkable and bicycle friendly development will reduce reliance on private cars and improve physical health and the proposed Rapid Bus Transit system will further encourage use of public transport. A community activation strategy has been employed early to create and activate the community and to celebrate this coastal location and provide inclusiveness to all community members.
On completion, Shoreline will feature a main street linked to a beach plaza, dining and entertainment areas, a primary school and 7.5 hectares of public open space including landscaped parks with boardwalks, a sports playing field and a public square.
