An iconic project that will transform the Southport area, Parklands will feature more than 1,252 dwellings with a mix of apartments and townhouses, a 5,840 m2 retail precinct and 7ha of green landscaped spaces built around a ‘Village Heart’. Located 5km from Surfers Paradise, Parklands is well serviced by public transport, providing an ideal place for people to work, study, live and play.
All 18 apartment towers and townhouses are orientated to maximise favourable solar orientation and take advantage of local cooling breezes. Grocon have set a 90% of construction waste recycling target and are committed to using low-VOC and recycled materials, wherever possible. This principle continues through to the fitout, with LED fixtures and efficient appliances to be installed throughout the development. All dwellings are designed to meet the Liveable Housing Guidelines – Gold level for apartments and Silver level for townhouses. The development will provide nine community gardens, complete with facilities for composting and vermilculture.
Grocon’s direct involvement with the local community has already commenced; partnering up with Griffith University, yourtown and the Gold Coast School of Construction to provide local trainee opportunities.
