Pacific Harbour – Golf and Country Club
DEVELOPER: QM Properties
CATEGORY: Mixed Use
CERTIFICATION: Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Water, Community
Australia’s only offshore island golf course and residential community, Pacific Harbour, promises residents a rare combination of lifestyle, water and golf. Situated on the Pumicestone Passage Marine Park, with access to pristine surf beaches, Pacific Harbour is surrounded by national park and reserves.
The $40 million Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club offers residents all the marine and bush lifestyle of the island as well as the security, seclusion, outlook, sport and community of a golf estate.
Designed by Ross Watson, the development incorporates wetlands, watercourses and native vegetation in the environmentally friendly and sustainable design. Irrigation for the golf course will be sourced from feature lakes and the underground water table. The golf course plan also ensures that the irrigation water will run off back into the water table and into the lakes.
Pacific Harbour has won numerous national and state awards for their efforts to create a development that preserves and protects for future generations. The golf course development was named Champion Project in Sustainable Developments by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA). All homes will feature underground water tanks and all builders must be Greensmart accredited.
