Property developer Halcyon has achieved a milestone with another EnviroDevelopment certification for their Logan based project, Halcyon Reserve. The project marks Halcyon’s fifth EnviroDevelopment certification in as many years.

Halcyon Reserve achieved certification in all six elements: Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Materials, Water and Community. Notable sustainability initiatives for the project include:

  • All plant species selected for public realm are locally native and drought tolerant
  • 3 hectares of rehabilitated area
  • Regional park provided for surrounding community
  • Native bee boxes installed at community garden.

The UDIA Queensland’s CEO Kirsty Chessher-Brown spoke highly of the project after its approval through the National EnviroDevelopment Board.

“It is fantastic to see Halcyon continue to be an industry leader for sustainable design,” Ms Chessher-Brown said.

“The incorporation of native bee boxes is one of my personal favourite initiatives.”
